Our History Sweet Deals

Papa Dio’s is Oklahoma City’s oldest family-owned Italian restaurant that’s run by REAL Italians. When you eat at a Mexican restaurant you usually see Mexicans working there, when you eat Chinese food you usually see Asian people working there. Doesn’t it make sense to see Italian people working at an Italian restaurant! Well, you will at Papa Dio’s, in fact, you might even see three generations of Bonadio’s there at one time or another. Ask to see the owner at some chain restaurant or a multi-unit restaurant, he or she is probably on the golf course! Well, Bill Bonadio (chef) doesn’t play golf so he is most likely cooking up something tasty in the kitchen.

Let’s start your tour of Papa Dio’s Italian Restaurant by telling you that we have two separate and different dining rooms for your enjoyment. The first is our casual or family side dining room. You can bring the kids after a soccer game or meet your spouse on the way home for a quick bowl of pasta without worrying about your dress or your hairdo.

Now the Wine Bar Side, imagine a fine dining restaurant with a wine list that has been awarded the Wine Spectators Award of Excellence several years in a row and in the middle of the room a horseshoe-shaped custom bar with a back bar made from wood that was brought in from an 18th century home in Louisiana. All this luxury for casual dining prices! This room is only open in the evening so if you need a private room for a special luncheon then give us a call.

Both dining rooms offer the same 160 plus item menu ranging from imported pasta, chicken, veal, shrimp, fresh fish daily to a special page for the Chef’s specials.

Sister keeps family tradition alive at Papa Dio’s Italian restaurant in Oklahoma City

“Bill Bonadio Jr. founded Papa Dio’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar more than four decades ago, but on a sunny spring afternoon in 2021 he’s headed out the door “to sell a guy a carburetor” when the media arrives. He promises to be right back. “Don’t forget to clock out,” his sister/boss deadpans. After 19 years, Candace Gideo is back in her element.”
